"Australians all let us rejoice, For we are young and free;
We've golden soil and wealth for toil, Our home is girt by sea;
Our land abounds in Nature's gifts, Of beauty rich and rare;
In history's page, let every stage, Advance Australia fair!
In joyful strains then let us sing, Advance Australia fair!"
We 'celebrated' Australia Day by eating Yum Cha in Chinatown then wondering around the Fish Markets and then boatyards... it was a gorgeous day and we in Sydney town have been far too deprived of summery days.
I have only just realised (and it's Feb now, this is a backdated post) that I'm wearing yellow and (carrying) a green... or green-ish bag. The national colours are Green and Gold (yellow)!! I swear this was not on purpose but I always seem to dress thematically sub conciously.
...maybe that's why people were giving me weird looks all day... or maye because...people are just weird. I feel I was dressed fairly conservatively [for me] but the way I was being looked at, you'd think I was wearing a neon yellow flag.
I'm wearing 3 separate necklaces here (all by COCO LIBERACE)... I couldn't decide which one to wear so I wore them all. But they all 'fit' together. Are beautiful individually but (I believe) work well in unity. Like snowflakes and people.
Even though I prefer not to fit in anywhere, I love the harmony of individual things. And people.
Wearing my favourite vintage Gottex skirt, last seen (on the blog) here.
Happy 2012 lovelies! May this year be what YOU want it to be... NYE and the first day of the year, in any calendar, are very special to me. It's a clean slate to restart your dreams. Or start new ones. To put the vision in to action.
However, I don't do NY resolutions but...BUT... I am going to do my very best to give up my title as Best Slacker Blogger... *
I am a photographer, a writer, a social anthropologist, a feminist dreaming of the day this isn't a fact but a way of life, a semi-pro Jedi (and a nutcase).
I love coconuts. I'm in my mid forties. That doesn't define me but it does amuse me.
